Two spaces

​Measure the horizontal and vertical size, if these 2 numbers are greater than 70 inches, the art will occupy two spaces. Said another way, measure the entire circumference of your work, if that number is greater than 140 inches, the art will occupy two spaces.

GAL Requirements for Installation-Ready Wall Hangings (painting, photos, collages, prints)
All pieces must meet the following criteria:


  • Be framed [except 3-D pieces] or gallery mount
  • Have edges finished [no bare canvas around sides, for instance]
  • Be hung by framing wire, but
  • a. No sawtooth hangers at the top;
  • b.Wire properly attached [approx. 1/3 from top; not real tight, but taut enough so that wire does not show above the top of the piece];
  • Wire secured to the frame with appropriate and adequately secured fasteners
  • Less than 140” circumference [140” or over counts as 2 pieces]
  • If over 24” in any direction, must have Plexiglas rather than glass
  • Frame in good repair; no corners that do not meet evenly, no holes or cracks unless barn wood or other aged grain
  • Glass/Plexiglas is clean


Make sure art work and mat are secured in frame and won’t fall out when hungFailure to meet all of the above criteria will preclude acceptance into the GAL for display at a show [membership or juried].

Submit your own .jpg images for each show:
If you are able to create .jpg images of your art and/or jewelry: Put the image on a CD or flash/thumb drive and bring it to changeover. The best way is to email your images to Fontaine Jacobs at 832-474-2882 if you need her email address or have questions on how to submit or rename your images.

If you are not able to submit your own .jpg, your images will be shot for you.

Jewelry
The Jewelry items should be shot as a group or sampling and be named:

Label the CD or flash/thumb drive with the artist's name and phone #. CD's are non-returnable, and thumb drives will be returned to the GAL gallery after the online gallery is complete. 
Images –jpgs that are 500 pixels wide at 72 dpi would be ideal. You can also email these images to Fontaine. If you have any questions call 832 474-2882
